My name is Cori Lively. I am a midwife serving all of Dallas & surrounding areas. I specialize in homebirth services and blending the art of traditional midwifery with current research
to provide safe care. I feel that my presence is not to direct you in your care and choices, but instead to walk beside you on your journey. Whether I am checking your blood pressure, feeling
the baby’s position, listening to your baby’s heartbeat, educating you on natural health, or going over optimal nutrition with you, I want you to feel free to ask questions, learn, question some
more, and be in charge of your experience.
My midwifery journey begins with my own birth. My mother had natural childbirths with both my sister and me, and growing up with those powerful stories, I knew from an early age that I wanted
to have my babies naturally. As a mother, I’ve had 7 midwife-attended births. As a midwife, I’ve had the honor of welcoming hundreds of babies in my years of practice.
I have been attending births professionally since 2003, and I opened Barefoot Midwifery in Addison, TX in 2006. While I do maintain birth center privileges for those that desire it, my heart and soul
is in homebirth. That is my passion: serving women in their own environment, where they live and grow their families.
I am both a Texas Licensed Midwife and a Certified Professional Midwife with the North American Registry of Midwives. I am a Trained Breastfeeding Educator and maintain current certifications in CPR
for Healthcare Professionals and Neonatal Resuscitation.
In addition to catching babies and caring for families, I have served in the past as President of the North Texas Midwives Association, and as a Regional Director for the DFW area on the Association
of Texas Midwives Board. I am a lifetime member of the Association of Texas Midwives and am an active member of the North Texas Midwives’ Association and the Dallas Birth Network. I
believe that being actively involved in local, state and national midwifery matters is an important part of supporting birth options for women.
I also believe that continuing to learn and grow as a midwife is essential to safe and informed care. I regularly attend local continuing education classes and state midwifery conferences and stay up to date with new research.
