Jasmin Kanevski, MBA, LM, CPM is a Licensed Midwife and Certified Professional Midwife with experience since 1998 and over 500 births attended. She is the owner of Sunshine Birth Company, her private midwifery practice, and Wise Beginnings Birth Center & Collective in Decatur, Texas. Jasmin provides comprehensive prenatal, birth, postpartum, and newborn care through 6 weeks to families throughout Wise County and within a 200-mile radius extending north to the Oklahoma border and west toward Lubbock.

Jasmin's journey into midwifery began early in life, witnessing her brother's birth with midwives in 1976 and her sister's birth in 1978. These profound experiences, combined with her own transformative home births, ignited a lifelong passion for supporting families through one of life's most sacred passages. Since 1998, she has served as a doula and childbirth educator before pursuing formal midwifery training through the Association of Texas Midwives Midwifery Training Program, becoming a CPM in 2004.

With a bachelor's degree in education from the University of North Texas, Montessori Certification, and an MBA from the University of Liverpool, Jasmin brings both clinical expertise and business acumen to her practice. Her diverse educational background enhances her ability to provide evidence-based care while creating a supportive, family-centered practice environment.

At the heart of Jasmin's philosophy is empowerment through education. She believes deeply in the motto, "If you don't know your options, you don't have any." Jasmin honors the innate wisdom of women's bodies and the physiologic birth process, providing individualized care that respects each family's unique needs, beliefs, and circumstances. She practices the Midwives Model of Care, offering continuous support and minimizing unnecessary interventions while ensuring safe, personalized attention throughout the childbearing journey.

Jasmin resides in Boyd, Texas with her husband Robert, and is blessed with seven children and seven grandchildren who inspire her work supporting growing families.
